STSS Brings The Action To Afton Motorsports This Wednesday Night, June 21 With Afton Action 50

AMP LogoThis Wednesday night, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP brings the “action” to Afton Motorsports Park.

Round No. 3 of the STSS Halmar International North Region is a 50-lap, $5,000-to-win Modified battle at the Afton Fairgrounds. ANDY BACHETTI and Stewart Friesen are locked into a tie for the point lead, with Anthony Perrego, Billy Decker, Jeremy Smith, Tommy Meier, Jerry Higbie, Brian Krummel, Nick Nye and Matt DeLorenzo the top-10. All of the top-10 drivers are expected to be on hand.

Danny Creeden has been hampered by bad luck in the STSS North this season and sits 11th in points.  Creeden headed to Afton last Friday after his home track of Accord Speedway rained out and picked up the victory.

Ryan Godown won both the Afton (then I-88) events a year ago and hopes to keep his streak alive in 2017.

Expected to join the STSS regulars: PA star Duane Howard in the Norm Hansell No. 357, ‘Super’ Matt Sheppard in the Sweeteners Plus No. 92s, fan-favorite Allison Ricci among the Ricci family representatives and a host of other invaders looking to take a piece of the $22,000-plus purse structure plus bonuses.

The Afton regulars hope to defend their home turf as well, with drivers like Alan Barker, Mitch Gibbs, Brett Tonkin, Rusty Smith, Ken Titus and more.

Joining the Modifieds are Crate 602 Sportsman in a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win, $100-to-start American Racer Challenge Cup event and FWD Four Cylinders in a $200-to-win program.
